Sick!

It´s been a long week, well actually longer than that now. Justin started feeling sick Sat. Feb. 13th, I thought it was just from lack of sleep from Super Saturday, but by Sunday night he was full fledged cold.
He took Tuesday off work and then we had a snow day on Wednesday...and that´s when I started feeling crappy. We both worked through it till the end of the work week, but by Sunday morning Justin got too sick.
His symptoms: stuffed up, really bad cough, headache, ear infection, soreness and deliriousness. Seeing as we just moved and do not have a family doctor we went over to the ER to wait 4 1/2 hours for Justin to see a doctor...conclusion...(drum roll) He has bronchitis, and gets to be on antibiotics. No big deal.
So he´s now been off work Mon., Tues., & Wed. He went back to work today, so hopefully he starts feeling better soon cause so far he still has most of his symptoms. Even though I´m still sick, as all wives know, that means nothing, it´s just like having a child at home, you must push through it. Ordering Pizza instead of making supper though definitely helped.

A place to live!!

After looking at places in New Glasgow for about a month, we have finally found a place to call home. It is a 2-bedroom apartment on the east-side of the town. The building is only 2 years old, so everything is brand new, including all the appliances! It is open concept and just over 900 sq. feet. We move in on Sat. Jan.30th!!! I just found out today that we got the place and I already have everything set up to be switched over and the uhaul all booked. Only thing to do now is get everything packed...really quickly!!

We're Moving!!!...to New Glasgow

So, Justin applied for this job (IT support specialist for the Chignecto-Central Regional School Board-New Glasgow sector) back in Oct., and we drove down to Truro for the interview at the beginning of Dec. By the 18th, we assumed he had not got the job so he called them to thank them for the interview, which was when he was informed that he already had the job, they were just trying to get a hold of all his references. We had to wait however till Jan. 6th to find out everything had gone through. We have now given our notice to our Landlord, filled out my subbing paperwork and am frantically looking for a place for Justin to stay in New Glasgow for a couple weeks(he starts jan.18), and a rental house for us when I come down at the beginning of Feb. fun fun!!

Although I am excited for him to have a permanent job, I am scared of me not getting much or any work, and I am very sad to leave all my friends up here in Cape Breton!!! :(

Very happy though!! Yeah us! Maybe this really will be our year!!

wow, I suck at this!

OK, I'm posting, not because I want to, but because I haven't and feel I should.
I don't write because I nothing going on. Justin is still working casual at the school board, and I'm still substituting up here. We're both looking for full time work.

We had an amazing summer. We visited my family in Halifax, spent some time in PEI with Justin's family, took a 4-night camping trip to Moncton/Shediac, and over Labour Day weekend went away for 3 nights camping around the Cabot Trail. It's amazing what you can do when you have no money, but still want to go away :)

My Uncle Jeff and me in Halifax

Me with a cow in Cavendish

Justin & I at the beach in Shediac

Justin and I at Magnetic Hill Zoo

All in all, great summer! But now we're back to reality. If anything exciting happens in my life, I'll be sure to post again.

It's been a while

Ok, I know it's been a really long time since I've written on this, but honestly I often forget I even have a blog, my life is not very interesting, and I only have 2 friends on here anyways (seeing as I have no idea how to add others).

Anyways, life for the last few months...can be summed up in 3 simple words: work, church, sleep, eat.
This is my 2nd year subbing and I've been doing it a lot lately. Other than storm days, I've been working straight since the 1st week Dec., not that I'm complaining, but I wish it would turn into something longer, with more pay and benefits.
Justin's term was extended till the end of March, so he's been busy working and loving it. Hopefully it'll be extended in March, or he'll get a promotion to a casual tech position.

Honestly, that's about it. Loving the snowy weather, hoping to go skiing sometime soon, and getting excited for March Break(hopefully spending it in Halifax).

Let's just wish I get back into writing more frequently...and that I get more friends, lol :)

New jobs

So, I'm still stuck substituting this year, hopefully a term/maternity will come up in the next few months...I check every Friday :)

Justin, however, has been doing really well. He started a term IT position with the school board at the beginning of Sept. and then yesterday he found out that he got a promotion to a casual position. Yeah him!!

1st post!!

Today I received a phone call for a teaching interview tomorrow morning. Yeah!!!
However, I'm freaking out, seeing as it's at the French school (french immersion!! ahhh!), for young elementary (I normally teach junior high). My chances of actually getting either of the 2 positions up for grabs are very slim, but it's good experience, and my first ever interview.
Hopefully my month away at Université Sainte Anne, french immersed will pay off. Wish me luck!!
